Sha Stimuli Interview with Dub MD on FlawlessHustle.com
Dub MD: Sha Stimuli, what’s good fam? its been a minute since our last Q&A session, and you’ve done a lot since then, for those who have been under a rock, what are some of the things you’ve done over the past couple of years?
Sha Stimuli: Well 2008 I dropped 12 CDs, The Wire, Love Jones, March on Washington, Hotter Than July, The Breakup. I really went hard getting out all the material that was inside of me. I then began doing a verse every week for 6 months for Coast 2 Coast mixtapes and that got me a record deal.
NOT FOR NOTHING BUT COAST2COAST MIXTAPES PUTS IN WORK ,REAL TALK, WEATHER IT'S GETTING YA SHIT HEARD ON THE RADIO,IN MAGAZINES OR ON MIXTAPES WITH SIGNED ARTIST AND WELL KNOWN DJ'S THEY DO WHAT THEY DO AND YOU CANT KNOCK THE HUSSTLE. I'VE HAD THE PLEASURE OF BEING APART OF A MAJOR MOVEMENT WORKING ALONG SIDE SOME OF THE GREATEST NAMES IN HIP HOP AND R&B TO DATE.I'VE BEEN FEATURED IN THE SOURCE MAGAZINE AND HAVE GOTTEN MORE THAN ENOUGH EXPOSURE FROM IT ALL,NUFF SAID.IF YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR CAREER TO THE NEXT LEVEL AS AN UNSIGNED ARTIST WEATHER YOU SUCK OR NOT,COAST2COAST MIXTAPES IS THE WAY TO GO.
"ITS MOTHA F****N COAST 2 COAST!!!"
Since January 2007, The R.L.C. and I have been involved with Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes and Hi Rollerz Records. Thanks to my man, Lil Fats we've been able to showcase out talent with the industries top performers on these promotional projects. Continually taking advantage of these opportunities we really started opening up eyes, and creating a buzz around the North West, and how not? When I was a kid if you were on a tape with Hip-Hop legends like Nas, Pete Rock, or a major mixtape DJ like Noodles or Chuck T, you were doing things.
Its been over a year now since The Real Life Click was featured on our first Coast 2 Coast project, and we've been making major moves. Building a relationship with Lil Fats through our involvement with Coast 2 Coast, we've all been able to take steps forward in our music careers by eventually signing with Hi Rollerz Records. Since then The R.L.C. and I released our first project as a group with Coast 2 Coast titled Real Life Vol. 1. One of our members, Slo Poke has released 2 solo mixtapes, and we also have Real Life Vol. 2 coming soon. As a young artist part of a group who has been trying to break in to this crazy game for some time, Coast 2 Coast has made it that much easier.
What's good y'all, this is Real1ty comin back to say that Coast 2 Coast is the most legit company I've ever worked with on anything. I submitted my music to be considered and got an email back from Lil Fats letting me know that they had selected me to get a spot on Coast 2 Coast 50. It was one of the greatest days of my career because I knew that Coast 2 Coast had a great reputation (mad friends of mine use their mixtapes for new tracks to help their DJ careers) and Lil Fats was straight up honest about everything that would happen. I started doin Hip-Hop 8 years ago and now I'm on a mixtape with major names. People are trying to get one of three major DJ's to produce my first solo mixtape, the likes of which y'all will soon see, and then on top of that, my demo is being given to a very powerful person this week. All I gotta say is that this mixtape has given me mad credibility among the industry contacts, and the fact that y'all are feelin my tracks helps that much more. It wouldn't have been possible without this mixtape though. Stay up, stay real, and trust me, this shit is LEGIT!
I'm writing this for all the struggling artist who hustle everyday to put their music out there. If you get the opportunity to work with Lil Fats (Coast2Coast Mixtapes) you better take it, one of the best decisions Ive made for my career. Being the star of DJ Khaled's Vol 26 mixtape with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Kanye West has opened a lot of doors for me including my own A&R showcase at The Key Club Hollywood on June 14, 2008. Being in this game this long you come across a lot of shady people but Lil Fats you've been one of the most honest and realest people's Ive worked with in this business. I Didn't have to worry about my money going to waist or a scam You kept your word in everything you did and I'm a always represent you and your company cause you got my highest respect. Hope we do more business in the future.
Lil' Fats and Coast 2 Coast has been a blessing to me. When I though no one was out there on my level that i could collaborate with that took this as serious as I did, I felt like just giving up, but I was contacted by Coast2Coast actually and was asked to be featured on a Mixtape and I've been working with them since, and its been truly a blessing, you cant get much better advertisement or help in the game than this to get recognized especially considering how Hi Rollerz and Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes are blowin' up, and its all done professionally and legit.

Thanks for the opportunity to place our music on your mixtapes. We have gotten a tremendous amount of positive feedback about the music and the tapes themselves. We love the quality of the products that you put out and the artwork is astounding. This is not your average mixtape. Your tapes give us added credibility when talking with other industry professionals. Good luck with the magazine, and keep up the great work.
MY A&R/DJ DJ VICTORIOUS TOLD ME WE NEED TO DISCONTINUE TO THE MIXTAPES FOREVER AND I TOLD HIM WE SHOULD PUT OUT THE ALBUM. WE ORIGINALLY WANTED A DEAL FOR CINDERELLA MAN. HE SPOKE TO HIS PEOPLES OVER AT CHAMBERMUSIK/E1 RECORDS AND THEY SAID THEY WERE LOOKING FOR AN ARTIST TO PUT OUT AFTER CAPPADONNA. THEY HAD HEARD OF ME AND KNEW I WAS HOT BUT NEVER HEARD ME SO HE SENT THEM 2 OF MY COAST2COASTMIXTAPES.COM FREESTYLES. PAPERWORK CAME 2 DAYS LATER...
It's difficult working towards a career in the music industry as an independent artist. It's even more difficult finding organizations to be involved with that complete their projects to the quality standard that I expect. During the past 7 months, I've been given the opportunity to work with Coast 2 Coast mixtapes. Coast 2 Coast has featured my songs on the Shadyville, DJ Khaled, Kay Slay, Big Mike, and the Juice mixtape, giving away more than 100,000 mixtapes in less than 7 months. Coast 2 Coast is an inventive organization that is committed to completing every project professionally and on time. Each experience with Coast 2 Coast has been hassle-free, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with them in the future. Now I am getting a spot in the next Coast to Coast Magazine which is also pushing more than 20 thousand copies. I have to say, its not bad exposure for an independent artist who just needed somewhat of a chance.
