I was born Lionel Brown but as a musical lyricist I am known as Prophanity. Born and breed in Brooklyn, New York I entered this world on a cold day in December, 1979. Living in Brooklyn and growing up on the streets of Flatbush gives you a tough exterior. As a young child I have been through a lot, so much many people can’t handle my story; at age eleven I was placed in a group home, while at the group home we were treated to a show, Doug e Fresh was the head liner this is when I began to have the dream of making music. I was hooked. In 1987 I wrote my first rap and performed it to the other boys in the home, I got laughed at that hurt, that taught me a lesson, you can’t rap about what you don’t know. I love lyrical hip hop I do not do poems, spoken word, R-n- B, I am a Rapper. I find that many performers have ghost writers and copy other people’s styles. I rap about my life; I am the only one who can tell my story. All I know is the streets, my life is full of up’s and downs, love and tears. My music/style is for the everyday person, I work hard on my music so I play harder when I hit the streets, some say that music affects them emotionally, I rap how I feel my music affects those who listen. I tell my story on many different levels. All this hard word and grinding in the studio is done to feed my kids and watch my family go from hard times to shyne times. I grind hard because lyrical hip hop is fighting to stay afloat. Too many rappers are more worried about what they have on rather than what comes out their mouth. The top ten songs that’s in rotation on my music lay list is “Antonio Montana” by Starlito, “Letter to my child” by Don Trip, “Rico” by Yo Gotti, “Drug Money” by Yo Gotti, “WOW Wilding Out Wonderfully” by Prophanity, “Raw” by Big daddy Kane,” Mahogany” By Eric B and Rakim, “All she want is money” by Prophanity, “My Life” by Slaughter House and any step brother song by Don Trip and Starlito. I am a proud part of Manish Child, we are a band of brothers that grind hard for what we want, when alone we shyne but together we glow. My new mix tape is currently in the making it’s called “Bad Mouth”, the first single that I’m promoting off of my Bad Mouth mix tape is “WOW Wilding Out wonderfully” All my music is produced out of Manish Child studios a home based studio. My music can be found on face book under Prophanity1, on Twitter@prophanitypro, Insatagram@prophanity and vine, my music is also available on sound cloud and at hotnewhiphop.com.
