According to the Urban Dictionary, when something is both dope and easy it’s “deezy”. Rap artist Half Deezy has been in the game long enough to know that in today’s world there’s really nothing in life that’s easy all the time; therefore his stage name Half Deezy. And the journey, well, what a long, strange trip it’s been.
Coming from a military family he spent his early years bouncing from city to city across the U.S.A. trying to find a place he could call home. After his father left the service his final stomping grounds was Las Vegas NV or better known as “Sin City”. By the time he turned 19, Half Deezy had fathered a child. While music was his first priority he decided to serve in the US Army in order to provide for his family
Serving in Iraq he was forced to endure the thunder of mortar shelling and the unrelenting emotional distress of war. Completing his tour of duty Half Deezy returned to the states, but not completely unscathed. Diagnosed with Intermittent Explosive Disorder ( Depression/Anxiety and adjustment disorder) the artist now uses his music as a form of self-therapy and a coping mechanism to deal with that crippling condition. Each and every day it gets a little bit better.
Serving in the Army for almost ten years Deezy hung up his uniform to pursue his love for music full time. The rapper, who cites influences like Bone Thugs N Harmony, Twista, and Tech N9ne to name a few, started performing in the early 2000 and has since released an EP called “Good Day” with songs like “Tonight,” a positive track you can dance to.
Half Deezy is an artist who was fortunate enough to have worked with legends like Spice 1, Bizzy bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, someone who was featured on tracks with Daz & Kurupt of DPG (Dogg Pound Gangstaz), or Layzie Bone, and blessed enough to open up for the legendary group Bone Thugs N Harmony on their 20th Anniversary tour 2013. Just recently he opened up for G-Eazy at SunFest 2016 in West Palm Beach Florida, one of the biggest music festival on the water front. His latest performance was at Springboard South Music Festival in Houston Texas.
