Up-and-coming rapper, Ebon Longueil, better known as Locko, is quickly gaining attention in the music industry for his original lyrics and refreshing beats.
Born and raised in Battleboro, VT, Locko was raised by a single mother as the middle child of three. His mom's difficult battle with substance abuse landed Locko and his siblings in separate foster homes. It was during this challenging transition in his life when he turned to writing as a way to express what he was going through. His writing evolved into lyrics and then free styling, and by high school, Locko was ready to take his passion to become a rapper to the next level. With his music video, "Going Down Tonight," already getting over 15k views on YouTube, Locko is well on his way up in the music industry.
Locko's sound is different but attention-grabbing: "I don't just rap about money, sex, and drugs like how most rappers do nowadays, I rap about myself and things I've gone through in the past that have made me the man I am today." He considers himself as a perfectionist when it comes to writing and rapping and always wants to make sure he sends out only the highest quality of music to his fans. Locko, who is recording and producing his music in Boston, wants his songs to be a source of inspiration for his audience and promotes the idea of believing in yourself even when no one else does.
Although Locko's difficult past has influenced most of his songs, his music is still seriously upbeat and fun to listen to. "Music saved my life," Locko says, "I want to inspire millions of people to never give up, follow their dreams, to make the most out of life, because you only live once... just be yourself." Go listen to his new track, "Ain't Gotta Leave" ft. Adam Duncan, which is quickly becoming one of his most popular songs.
