NATETHOVEN Born Nathaniel Baker, to Nancy Dow and Joseph Baker, two people from totally diferent worlds. Natethoven''''''''''''''''s father was from New Orleans, LA, and his mother from New England. His father was Dominican/ black and his mother was Irish, both were poor and hard working. As a child Natethoven saw his parents struggle and wanted more, and decided at an early age that he wasn''''''''''''''''t going to repeat the cycle. In 1997 he joined the Army. While at his first duty station, Ft,. Campbell, Ky he invested in a Akai MPC- 2000 , and started learning to produce tracks, "make beats". Two yrs later in his spare time he started an independent hip hop label, ONE LOVE RECORDS. Back then he went by the name Sinister Tonz. He worked hard at perfecting his craft of writing, rapping, producing, and recording. Releasing many underground titles and building on his technical knowledge, as well as his marketability. Due to the Iraq war he took a long hiatus from his love of music. Upon returning to the states he was noticeably different to his friends and family and was diagnosed with severe PTSD. Post traumatic stress disorder, very common among war vets. He then turned to alcohol and drugs to cope. Once he realized he was headed down a long lonely path, he saught help. At which time he resumed his love of writting and recording. Using his life experiences, both good and bad in his songs to heal. Developing a sound and style all his own. An urban Composer, not just a rapper/producer. A hybrid blend of melodic tracks, lyrics, and emotions. Creating all around good urban music. Here''''''''''''''''s what one writer had to say; "A dope new school indie rap/ hip hop artist / producer, and remix artist with major label talent and looks. Ranging from underground to commercial friendly sounds. Give him a listen, you''''''''''''''''ll be pleasantly surprised."
