Rakeeb is a Virginia born teenage hip hop recording artist and graphic designer. Growing up, Rakeeb was surrounded by tons of musical influences among his family and friends. Many of his family members were talented singers, piano players, saxophone players, guitarists, poets, etc. Rakeeb felt as though he had to fit in with his family and peers so he tried different instruments and attempting to sing, which was far from successful, he was later taken under the wing of a friend and local rapper, J-Willz, who is now a member of Nation Hitz Music, along side Chaos Chytist, C-Ryan, and more.
Willz stood as somewhat of a big brother and mentor to Keeb. Taking him to his first studio session and showing him the ropes of putting together structured hip hop tracks. Rakeeb's first studio session was at Chaos Chytist's studio. C-Ryan, J-Willz, and more attended the session in which Rakeeb recorded his first song titled "It's Hot" featuring J-Willz. After seeing the positive response of the older and influential Nation Hitz crew, Rakeeb was motivated to continue on with his career as a rapper. Eventually, Rakeeb recorded his first official mixtape "Just Scratchin' the Surface" with features from artists such as J-Willz, E-Biggz, and TP of 9th Wonder's independent 'Jamla' label. He shot a music video for the mixtape's single, "R.A.K.E.E.B" and has reached nearly 2000 views so far. Rakeeb has recently started a music group of young teen MCs and producers called "Swell The Crew"
In the near future, Rakeeb plans to begin the recording of his second project. Pushing to make his stamp in the music industry. To keep up with Rakeeb's movement, follow him on twitter @OfficialRakeeb. Keep it swell.
