DeShaun "Smokey" Johnson was born and raised in Delhi, Louisiana Northeast. He always had a devotion for hiphop music of all sorts. After years of watching his older brother and friends pursue a music career, Smokey would soon follow. The name "Smokey" was given to him by his mother and he stated it had sentimental value and was unique to all listeners. His music relates to day to day life activities, throughout the good and bad experiences, and mostly about showing the world you can be yourself and still make good music. His influences are too many to name, but he stated "Snoop Dogg, T.I, UGK, The Game, Nas and the list goes on and on" and recently he received many Co-Signs from Major Artist in the industry such as The Game, Stat Quo, and OG Ron C, compliment him on his unique ability to create newly sound music. As of now, he is just learning more and more about his craft and soon will be surfacing as a new upcoming artist in the industry. He is now currently working on his debut Mixtape entitled "Struggle and Progress" which is set to release this fall. According to Hip Hop Weekly, Smokey Johnson is next up to rise.
