Born April 24th, 1992, of Samoan-Taiwanese descent, Polynesian recording-artist "Cyrus" is more than your average island boy. At an early age, he was introduced to music in the form of Smooth R&B, Reggae, and WestCoast Hip-Hop, marking the beginning of his love for music.
Due to personal struggles at an early age; not having both parents in his life as much, being bullied for being different, having to be picked on for not being full blooded polynesian, disputes and arguments within his house-hold; Cyrus found an outlet that would, unknown to him at the time, start his remarkable musical journey by ways of writing in a journal. At first it doesn't seem like much of an amazing start, but writing in a journal developed into a form of poetry and with that poetic touch, lyrics, and again it evolved into the raw and uncut version of his life into words through Hip-hop.
Cyrus was never open about his love for rapping due to insecurities of not being accepted. So everything he did was kept to himself, that was until his freshmen year in highschool, Cyrus and a friend started a group and tried to catch the attention of their peers, but failed to do just that. Again, as a last chance for closure, at the age of 17, during his last year of highschool, Cyrus performed, hence letting everyone know that he was a hip-hop artist.
Cyrus is now an open book and a student of music. Finding inspiration within his life, with a unique style from influences of all musical genres and legendary rappers. The writing structure of Rakim, the juggle of words from the late Big L, the honesty and bigger vision of the late Notorious BIG, the mindset from the late Big Pun, the soul of Andre 3000, the flow of Big Boi from OutKast, the aggression of Ice Cube, the delivery of Inspectah Deck, the state of mind of a Westcoast Artist, the list goes on. He doesn't just listen to music, he studies and admires it.
When you get the chance, please check out his music and see this young, developing artist at work.
Bless.
"Music was and is my way out of this hard life and into a better one. I wont forget what has gotten me this far in this story of mine. All i know is that every chapter from here on out will be my best yet to come."
