Born in Honolulu, Hawaii 1990, Joshua Lee AkA Yung Guru Beatz has always been around music. His family moved from the Hawaii islands all the way to Las Vegas Nevada to an apartment in summerlin where he and his family of two older sisters, one older brother and one younger brother lived with both parents for a short time. They then moved to Berkley Square Piru a blood neighborhood in the heart of the westside. He attended Kit Carson elementary school and switched to Madison elementary school where he played on the flag football team with a undefeated record for the season. His mother Loretta has been in the church choir for over 15 years and his older brother took up drumming lessons as a child. Joshua''''s favorite subject in elementary school was band from then he joined the middle school band program at West middle school under the direction of Anothony Marentic who has played a big part musically in Yung Guru''''s career. By the 7th grade Yung Guru was recommended for advanced band playing the trumpet and also joined the school drumline along side his older brother Matthew AkA Hitman Beatz. By high school Yung Guru had become percussionist and put the trumpet down after becoming a drum captain at the age of 15. He attended Canyon Springs High school but did not like the fact that the drumline and band did not play Rap or Hip Hop music. So he left the school and joined the Mojave High School band which was now under the direction of Anthony Marentic his middle school band director. They won every competition from the Mlk parade to drum line battles. By this time Yung Guru had began making beats on fruity loops version 5 after his brother Hitman Beatz showed him the program in 2005. They then started a lable titled Triple E which stood for "Elite Empire Ent." the name was later changed to Triple E Music Group which is branched with a label titled Money Militia. Yung Guru''''s beats have evolved tremendously since he began in high school. He has placements from a lot of Las Vegas artists as well as artists from London, California, Atlanta, South Carolina, and Philly.
